मैंने हल्की सी हँसी में अपने दर्द को छुपाकर कहा—
“मुझसे कौन करेगा शादी…?”
वो फिर बोली—
“कमी क्या है तुममें…?
तुम तो बहुत अच्छे हो…”
मैंने दिल पर हाथ रखकर कहा—
“अच्छा तो मैं तब भी था…
जब तुम मुझे छोड़कर जा रही थीं…
तो बताओ न—
कमी क्या थी मुझमें
जो तुम किसी और की हो गई…?”
वो खामोश हो गई…
और उसकी वो खामोशी
मेरी ज़िंदगी की सबसे कड़वी सच्चाई बन गई…
प्यार हमारा सच्चा था…
पर शायद
जहाँ तुम्हारी दुनिया ख़त्म होती थी
वहीं से मेरी दुनिया शुरू होती थी…
तुम आगे बढ़ गई…
और मैं अब भी वहीं खड़ा हूँ
