These lines express the extreme depth of longing in love. The poet says that they will keep waiting for their beloved, no matter how much time passes or how the world changes. The hope of their return will never fade. The love is so intense that either the beloved comes back and brings peace to their heart -or, if they never return, the poet fears they might lose themselves entirely in the pain of waiting.
