भाइयों का प्यार और त्याग
​एक गाँव में राम और श्याम नाम के दो भाई रहते थे। दोनों के पास अपनी-अपनी जमीन थी और वे खेती करके अपना गुजारा करते थे। राम शादीशुदा था और उसके बच्चे थे, जबकि श्याम अकेला था।
​एक बार फसल की कटाई के बाद, दोनों ने अनाज को बराबर हिस्सों में बाँट लिया और अपने-अपने गोदामों में रख दिया। रात को श्याम ने सोचा, "भैया का परिवार बड़ा है, उन्हें मुझसे ज्यादा अनाज की जरूरत होगी।" वह चुपके से उठा और अपने अनाज के पाँच बोरे भैया के गोदाम में रख आया।
​उसी रात राम ने भी सोचा, "श्याम अकेला है, बुढ़ापे में उसका सहारा कौन बनेगा? उसे अभी से ज्यादा धन जोड़ना चाहिए।" राम ने भी चुपके से पाँच बोरे अनाज श्याम के गोदाम में डाल दिए।
​अगले दिन दोनों हैरान थे कि अनाज कम क्यों नहीं हुआ! कई दिनों तक यही चलता रहा। एक रात, जब दोनों बोरे लेकर एक-दूसरे के गोदाम की ओर जा रहे थे, तो रास्ते में टकरा गए। सच्चाई सामने आते ही दोनों की आँखों में आँसू आ गए और वे गले लग गए।
​कहानी की सीख
​सच्चा सुख दूसरों की मदद करने और निस्वार्थ प्रेम में ही छिपा है। जहाँ त्याग है, वहीं शांति है।मूर्ख कौआ और समझदार उल्लू
​बहुत समय पहले की बात है, एक घने जंगल में एक कौआ और एक उल्लू रहते थे। कौआ स्वभाव से बहुत घमंडी था और खुद को सबसे चतुर समझता था। एक दिन दोपहर की चिलचिलाती धूप में कौए ने उल्लू का मजाक उड़ाते हुए कहा, "दोस्त, तुम दिन भर आँखें बंद करके बैठे रहते हो, क्या तुम्हें सूरज की खूबसूरती नहीं दिखती?"
​उल्लू ने शांति से जवाब दिया, "मुझे दिन की रोशनी में धुंधला दिखता है, लेकिन रात के अंधेरे में मैं सब देख सकता हूँ। हर किसी की अपनी खूबी होती है।"
​कौए को अपनी काबिलियत पर गुरूर था, उसने उल्लू को चुनौती दी कि वह दिन के उजाले में उड़कर दिखाए। उल्लू मान गया, लेकिन जैसे ही वह उड़ने लगा, तेज धूप के कारण उसे कुछ दिखाई नहीं दिया और वह एक कंटीली झाड़ी में जा गिरा। कौआ जोर-जोर से हंसने लगा।
​तभी अचानक एक बाज वहां से गुजरा। कौआ अपनी मस्ती में इतना मशगूल था कि उसने बाज को नहीं देखा। उल्लू ने अपनी तेज सुनने की शक्ति से खतरे को भांप लिया और चिल्लाया, "भागो कौए भाई! ऊपर देखो!"
​कौआ तुरंत उड़ गया और उसकी जान बच गई। उसने महसूस किया कि जिसे वह कमजोर समझ रहा था, उसी की सूझबूझ ने आज उसकी जान बचाई है।
​सीख: कभी भी किसी की क्षमता का मजाक नहीं उड़ाना चाहिए, क्योंकि हर किसी के पास अपने अलग गुण होते हैं।
