​Incident: The accident occurred when his chartered aircraft (a Learjet 45) crashed while attempting to land in Baramati, Pune district.
​Casualties: All persons on board, including Ajit Pawar, his personal security officer, an attendant, and the pilots, were killed in the crash.
​Context: He was reportedly travelling to Baramati to campaign for the upcoming Zilla Parishad elections.
